Day by Day Program
Day 1: Arrival at JRO / Transfer to Arusha
Welcome to Sky Wanders Safaris, where nature’s beauty awaits you.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our representative will greet you and guide you on a scenic 1-hour drive to your accommodation in Arusha, often referred to as the “Geneva of Africa.” During the journey, you will pass through local villages, with your guide sharing fascinating stories about the culture and landmarks of Tanzania.
After checking into your accommodation, you’ll have time to freshen up, enjoy a delicious dinner, and retire for a peaceful overnight stay before your safari adventure begins.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
What a beautiful day to begin your adventure!
After enjoying a delicious breakfast at the lodge, your safari expert will provide a briefing before you depart for Tarangire National Park, with a packed lunch in hand. Known for its ancient baobab trees and diverse landscapes, the park is a haven for wildlife, particularly during the dry season when the Tarangire River provides essential water to thousands of animals.
During your game drive, you’ll have the chance to spot elephant herds, zebras, impalas, and a variety of bird species, before enjoying a packed lunch and continuing your afternoon game drive in search of more incredible wildlife. After a day full of wildlife encounters, your guide will transfer you to a lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater
Today, you will depart from the Ngorongoro Highlands and descend into the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater for another incredible game drive. After breakfast, you’ll drive through the Loduare Gate and descend more than 600 meters into the crater, a stunning caldera formed by volcanic eruptions millions of years ago.
This UNESCO World Heritage site is home to the Big Five—lions, rhinos, elephants, and buffaloes—as well as zebras, impalas, hippos, and a variety of bird species. After a thrilling game drive, you’ll ascend the crater and head to your lodge for a well-deserved dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Game en Route to Central Serengeti National Park
Embark on an unforgettable adventure across the Serengeti’s endless plains with Sky Wanders Safaris. After a delicious breakfast, you will head to the Seronera region, known for its lush green pastures and water sources that attract a variety of wildlife.
During your game drive, you may be lucky enough to spot iconic big cats such as cheetahs, leopards, and lions, along with elephants, zebras, and gazelles, making this a prime spot for wildlife sightings. After enjoying a packed lunch at one of the park’s scenic picnic spots, you’ll continue your afternoon game drive before returning to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Full Day Central Serengeti National Park
Experience the beauty of the Serengeti’s endless plains with Sky Wanders Safaris. Start your day with a delicious breakfast before embarking on an exciting game drive through the heart of the Serengeti, with an optional hot air balloon ride for a unique aerial view of the landscape.
As you explore the central Serengeti, you’ll have the chance to spot wildlife such as elephants, cheetahs, buffalo, leopards, and impalas. After enjoying a scenic picnic lunch on the Serengeti plains, continue your afternoon game drive before returning to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Game en Route to Serengeti North
Serengeti North is a must-visit highlight of your Tanzanian safari, offering unforgettable moments. After breakfast, depart from the heart of Serengeti and drive to the northern region, where you’ll enjoy a game drive en route to your camp for a delicious hot lunch, followed by a 45-minute relaxation break.
In the afternoon, embark on a thrilling game drive along the Mara River, with a chance to witness the spectacular wildebeest river crossings and spot predators such as lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and leopards. After an exciting day of wildlife encounters, your guide will return you to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7 & 8: Wildebeest Mara River Crossing
Spend two unforgettable days with Sky Wanders Safaris as you witness the Mara River crossing, one of nature’s most dramatic events. Our expert guides will accompany you along the Mara River, where you’ll observe massive herds of wildebeest as they seek to cross the river, en route to Maasai Mara National Reserve for the mating season.
While waiting for the crossing, you may spot predators like lions and crocodiles hiding near the river, hunting for an opportunity to strike. Enjoy a delicious lunch along the riverbanks before continuing your game drive and returning to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Fly to Arusha / Depart
Thank you for choosing Sky Wanders Safaris for your unforgettable adventure. After breakfast, you’ll depart the camp and drive to Kogatende Airstrip for your local flight to Arusha, where our safari representative will greet you upon arrival.
Enjoy a delicious lunch at the Arusha Coffee Lodge, followed by some leisure time before being escorted to the airport for your return flight. We hope you had an incredible experience with us and wish you safe travels back home.
