Day by Day Program
Day 1: Arrival at JRO/ Transfer to Arusha
Welcome to Kilimanjaro International Airport and to the heart of Tanzania!
Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by your Sky Wanders Safaris expert for a warm welcome and a smooth transfer. After the greetings and formalities, your guide will drive you to Arusha for your first night in Tanzania, where you will check into your lodge, freshen up, and enjoy a delicious dinner. Relax and unwind in your room, preparing for the exciting safari adventures that await you.
Day 2: Maasai Village / Lake Manyara National Park
Sky Wanders Safaris offers the perfect opportunity for travelers seeking an authentic Tanzanian experience. After breakfast, your expert safari guide will brief you before embarking on a scenic 2.5-hour drive to a Maasai village, where you’ll be warmly welcomed with traditional songs and dances, offering a unique chance to engage with the Maasai and learn about their culture and traditions.
Following your Maasai experience, enjoy a delicious local lunch in Mto wa Mbu before heading to Lake Manyara National Park for an afternoon game drive, where you may encounter tree-climbing lions, giraffes, elephants, zebras, and more. After a memorable day, your guide will drive you to Karatu for dinner and overnight accommodation.
Day 3: Game en Route to Central Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will embark on a scenic drive toward the iconic Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you may spot wildlife along the way. Upon arrival in Serengeti, you’ll enjoy a packed lunch at one of the park’s picturesque picnic sites before heading out on an afternoon game drive.
Serengeti’s vast plains are home to a rich variety of wildlife, including buffalo, elephants, zebras, wildebeest, and predators like cheetahs, lions, leopards, and hyenas. After an exciting day of game viewing, you’ll be transferred to your camp for a delicious dinner and a restful overnight stay.
Day 4: Game en Route to Ndutu
After breakfast, you’ll depart from Serengeti Central and head towards the Serengeti Southern Plains, with a packed lunch in hand for an authentic game drive. Upon reaching the Ndutu area, you will witness thousands of ungulates grazing in the fertile grounds, a stunning sight during calving season.
In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy your packed lunch at Ndutu, followed by a game drive to explore the area, including the vital Masek and Ndutu lakes, which sustain a variety of wildlife. After an exciting day of wildlife viewing, you will return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Wildebeest Calving in Ndutu
Today, you will embark on a full-day game drive, with the chance to witness the incredible wildebeest calving season in the Ndutu area. After an early departure with a packed lunch, you’ll experience the remarkable event of wildebeest giving birth, a rare and lucky sight.
In addition to wildebeest, you may encounter other wildlife, such as zebras, giraffes, elephants, and gazelles, with predators like lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas also potentially in view. After a thrilling day of game viewing, you will return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Tour
Welcome to the Ngorongoro Crater, a stunning landscape offering incredible wildlife viewing and dramatic scenery. After breakfast, you’ll depart Ndutu and head to the crater, a perfect destination for those seeking the Big Five and breathtaking views, with its vast 260-square-kilometer floor rising 600 meters above the surrounding terrain.
In addition to the Big Five, you’ll have the chance to spot impalas, zebras, cheetahs, waterbucks, and more, while Lake Magadi provides a chance to see flocks of flamingos and other migrating birds. After a packed lunch on the crater floor and an afternoon game drive, you will ascend and drive to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7: Drive Back to Arusha / Depart
