Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport/ Transfer to Arusha
Sky Wanders Safaris warmly welcomes you to Tanzania, our beautiful country.
Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll be greeted by our experienced safari expert who will assist with the welcome procedures. Your private guide will transfer you to the lodge for a delightful dinner and an overnight stay. After enjoying an authentic African dinner, you can unwind at the bar before retiring to your room for a restful night, ready for the adventure ahead.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
Start your unforgettable Tanzania safari with a visit to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its large elephant herds. After a delicious breakfast, your safari expert will provide a briefing before a scenic 2-hour drive to the park.
Tarangire’s stunning landscapes, featuring iconic baobab trees and the Tarangire River, offer an incredible backdrop for wildlife viewing, including elephants, zebras, lions, and leopards. After a relaxing picnic lunch, you’ll embark on an afternoon game drive to discover even more of the park’s incredible wildlife before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Mto wa Mbu Cultural Experience / Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, your safari guide will take you on an exciting drive to Mto wa Mbu, where you’ll engage with a variety of Tanzanian tribes for an authentic cultural experience. Stroll through local villages, visit banana plantations to learn about farming and the production of traditional banana beer, and explore the intricate Makonde wood carvings that highlight local craftsmanship.
Enjoy a delicious local lunch in Mto wa Mbu, savoring authentic African flavors before embarking on an afternoon game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions and scenic views of the Great Rift Escarpment. After the game drive, you’ll be driven to Lake Eyasi for dinner and an overnight stay, completing a day rich in both wildlife and cultural immersion.
Day 4: Lake Eyasi Cultural Excursions/ Meet Hadzabe and Datoga
Your day begins with a hearty breakfast, followed by a drive to Hadzabe village, where you’ll meet the bushmen, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes in the world. The Hadzabe will showcase their impressive hunting techniques, as well as how they collect honey and gather fruits for survival.
After immersing yourself in their fascinating way of life, you’ll visit the Datoga tribe, renowned for their skills in farming and craftsmanship, where you’ll learn about their unique customs, norms, and traditions. Following this enriching cultural experience, your safari guide will drive you to Karatu for a delicious dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Game en Route to Serengeti National Park
When planning your Tanzania safari, Serengeti National Park is a must-visit destination.
After breakfast, you will depart from the Ngorongoro Highlands and enjoy a scenic 3-hour drive to Serengeti, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with opportunities to witness stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife along the way.
Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy a packed lunch at one of Serengeti’s designated picnic spots before setting off on an afternoon game drive to explore the park’s rich biodiversity. Spending the night in the Serengeti maximizes your chances of seeing more wildlife, and after your game drive, you’ll return to your camp for a delicious dinner and restful overnight stay.
Day 6: Serengeti National Park
Today, you have the exciting option of an early balloon safari, offering a unique aerial view of Serengeti’s vast plains and wildlife. After a hearty breakfast, you’ll head out for a full-day game drive in the central region of Serengeti National Park, with packed lunch in hand. The water-rich grasslands here attract a wide range of wildlife, including lions, leopards, elephants, zebras, wildebeest, and antelopes, providing exceptional game-viewing opportunities.
After a relaxing lunch at one of Serengeti’s designated picnic spots, continue your afternoon drive in search of more wildlife before returning to your camp for an unforgettable night in the Serengeti wilderness.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Tour
Today, you will embark on a remarkable crater tour as you descend over 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Tanzania’s most stunning natural wonders.
After breakfast, depart from the Serengeti plains and head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you’ll encounter an incredible array of wildlife, including the rare and endangered black rhino, elephants, hippos, buffaloes, gazelles, wildebeests, and over 400 species of birds.
Enjoy a packed lunch at one of the crater’s picturesque picnic spots before continuing your game drive and visiting Lake Magadi to witness flamingos and other birdlife. After exploring the crater’s diverse wildlife, ascend and head to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight, capping off another unforgettable day in Tanzania’s breathtaking landscapes.
Day 8: Drive Back to Arusha / Depart
Today marks the final day of your incredible journey with Sky Wanders Safaris, as you prepare to bid farewell after a memorable adventure. After breakfast, enjoy a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Arusha, where you’ll savor a delicious hot lunch and have some leisure time to reflect on your Tanzania safari experience.
